Preperations for Zombtober 2014

With this current employment I'm working every weekend day but despite this I've managed to glue sand & stones to the Werewolf of London's base and coat Jim the Milk Lad in watered down PVA (he's Arifix style plastic). This weekends weather is very mild so I've gotten 7 figures primed 5 zombies and 2 special characters for the Zombie Incident of 1888. I expect to have the Werewolf & Jim primed this week so that will bring my primed figures for Zombtober 2014 up to 8 zombies and 8 survivors/special characters. I also have 3 half painted zombies left over from Zombtober 2013 I know that makes me a lazy git, which bring this years zombie total to 12. This is my goal for Zombtober 2014 19 figures not much compared to many of you guys but realistically the most I'll accomplish this October.

I might try a photographic background for the finished zombie pictures do any of these grab you as a background?

Hello Operator...

"Hello operator please thank Mr. King for me."
Wednesday is the only day off I'm likely to have this week a now that my work week begins on Thursday's I'm back to tossing out drunks for a living. This is something I haven't done for a very long time but its for an Irish pub so Fran should approve. Fortunately for me and you I was home when the postwoman rang my bell with a package from fellow blogger Edwin King of Thoughts of a Depressive Diplomatist. Included in the box holding my giveaway prize was a very charming collection of postcards I felt I had to share with you all.
And a collection of Victorian supernatural tales by the noted author May Sinclair.
Mr. King is a very generous soul thank you Sir!

Linka World

Many of you who have been following this blog know that I've been trying to create a Victorian London playing board for The Zombie Incident of 1888 and EOTD this project has been on hold for a while as I haven't found the best way to do it see here and here. The Lunatic produced a series of foam core buildings covered in textured paper see here, he wasn't happen with the joints and I wasn't happy with the lack of texture on the paper so they have been abandoned. Finally a very old model railroad system was rediscovered (I remember when this was being sold back in 1989.) Linka World formally know as Linka Systems a set of building part molds used with plaster. I now have a full set of all the brick molds and roof slate molds.
These molds can be purchased here shipping world wide is only $6 US orders of $100 are shipped free!!! A full set of all the brick molds and the roof molds will cost close to $100, there are stone, timber and wooden siding molds too. Detailed plans on how to build various buildings are available as free PDFs on the Linka World site.
There are PDFs on how to build the tricky bits with photos too.
Needless to say Linka mold casting will begin this week.

There are now many new readers to the blog I'm afraid I don't have time to welcome you all now but I will surely do so next post.

Sharpen Your Pencil?

I bought this pencil sharpener from D&P Unique Collectibles off ebay I read about some VSF (Victorian Science Fiction) wargamer buying some 28mm scale covered wagons off this guy on the Lead Adventurer Forum. So I bought this because it was on sale. I realized later than the guy on the forum bought the pencil sharpener wagon without the horse attached looks much better than the ones with the horse attached.
The carriage size is good for 28mm but there is very little detail. Still I think I can do something with it.

By the end of the war only companies Toten Soldat, of soldiers specially trained to combat the undead, dared to enter the ruins of Eastern Prussia.
